Disney Sports: Basketball blends fluid 3-on-3 streetball gameplay with the whimsical charm and magical abilities of classic Disney characters. Developed by Konami in collaboration with Polygon Magic, the game trades realistic rules for non-stop arcade action, fast breaks, and physics-defying trick moves.
Players select from six distinct Disney teams, including Mickey's Super Stars, Donald's Steamrollers, Goofy's Spunky Kids, and Big Bad Pete's Imperials. Each team features a unique captain with specialized stats for shooting, speed, and defense. Filling the magic gauge through steals, passes, and successful shots enables players to activate signature super-dunks and elemental court powers—such as lightning passes, fire shots, and whirlwind defense—to gain an edge over rivals. As players advance through Exhibition, Tournament, and Challenge modes, they earn points to unlock custom shoes and accessories that permanently boost player stats, while local four-player support makes it a dynamic party sports title for GameCube fans.
