Army Men: Sarge's War reimagines the classic green-vs-tan plastic soldier conflict with a grittier, action-focused perspective. Developed using assets initially conceptualized by 3DO prior to its bankruptcy, the final game was completed under Global Star Software and delivered a mature, revenge-centered campaign.
The story begins during a historic peace treaty signing between the Green and Tan armies. A rogue Tan faction led by the villainous Lord Malice detonates a massive bomb at the ceremony, annihilating the Green Army—including Sarge’s long-time squad members (Bravo Company). Devastated and fueled by rage, Sarge embarks on a solo crusade across plastic-strewn battlefields to track down Lord Malice and eradicate his forces. Gameplay features third-person cover shooting, weapon swapping, and a directional component-damage mechanic where plastic enemy soldiers can lose limbs, heads, or torso pieces while continuing to fight until fully melted or shattered.
